HARRISBURG, PA. - Authorities say police have yet to substantiate a 19-year-old woman's claim that she killed more than 20 people in four states before the Pennsylvania murder she is now charged with committing.
Northumberland County District Attorney Tony Rosini said Tuesday ethical rules bar him from commenting on statements made by Miranda Barbour, who with her newlywed husband is accused of the November slaying of a man lured through a Craigslist ad for companionship.
But Rosini says there's been "no verification" of information regarding Barbour's prior acts.
Barbour said in a recent prison interview she killed at least 22 people in Alaska, Texas, North Carolina and California as part of her involvement in a satanic cult.
