NEW MEXICO - NewsWest 9 has an update on what was reported as a “possible radiological event” at the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant in New Mexico.
The Department of Energy tells NewsWest 9, no surface contamination has been found on any equipment, personnel or facilities.
This comes after an air monitor detected radiation on the plant’s underground levels around 11:30 p.m. on Friday.
Officials are continuing to monitor the situation.
