MIDLAND - Midland Police have tracked down a man who tried to run officers over early Monday morning.

Police pulled over 24-year-old Jaime Perdue around 2 a.m. after they saw him driving the wrong way on the north service road of Loop 250 near Midland Drive.

When officers approached Perdue's vehicle they say he accelerated and tried to run them over. That's when they fired shots at the vehicle. Police say Perdue then turned north on Midland Drive and ultimately ended up in a field north of the Greentree Subdivision. He ditched the stolen vehicle and took off.

Perdue was located a few hours later walking near Woodhollow Drive and Oriole Drive. A bullet had grazed his arm while another bullet lodged between his skull and ear.

Perdue was taken to Midland Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. He was later released and is now behind bars.

Perdue will face several charges including two counts of aggravated assault against a public servant, one count of evading, one count of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
