Propane Tank Explodes in West Odessa, No Injuries Reported

WEST ODESSA – A propane tank explosion in West Odessa scared some residents on Wednesday night.

The explosion happened around 9:30 p.m. in the 4400 block of West 10th Street.

Fire officials tell NewsWest 9, a small fire started and a propane tank exploded near a shack or shed.  

The homeowner did try to put out the small fire before the tank exploded.

No injuries or damage was reported.

A fire chief with Odessa Fire/Rescue tells NewsWest 9, the explosion sent flames 150 feet in the air.

The actual cause of the small fire is unknown.
