Police Searching For Two Men After Deadly Fight in Hobbs

HOBBS, N.M. - Police need your help locating two people after a fight turned deadly in Hobbs.

Officers were called out to the 1200 block of North San Mateo in reference to a disturbance just before 2:30 a.m. on Sunday, February 2.

When officers arrived on the scene they found out that a fight had taken place and the people involved left in different vehicles. We're told that two people were stabbed, 17-year-old Oscar Mediano and 18-year-old Omar Cruz.

Officials say that Mediano was pronounced dead at the hospital and Cruz was treated and released.

In a press release to NewsWest 9, Hobbs Police investigated several leads and learned that the fight ensued after a disagreement at a party.

Police have issued warrants for 22-year-old Armando Espinoza and 25-year-old Michael Rodriguez.

Once they are caught, Espinoza will be charged with second degree murder and aggravated battery while Rodriguez will face charges of accessory to second degree murder and accessory to aggravated battery.

Officials say these two people are considered armed and dangerous.
