SEMINOLE - Two people are behind bars in Seminole following a short chase over the weekend.

On Saturday, Seminole police attempted to stop a white Dodge Intrepid for traffic violations.

We're told that's when the driver decided not to stop and a pursuit began.

During the chase, the vehicle did stop and a passenger ran from the vehicle on foot.

Police were able to catch the passenger, 33-year-old Geraldo Rios. We're told that Rios was found to have a felony warrant for failure to comply with sex offender registration requirements. Rios also tried to get rid of a bag of marijuana as he was being taken into custody.

A short time later, the driver of the vehicle was also found and taken into custody. 35-year-old Maribel Alvarez was taken into custody and faces several charges including evading.

We're also told that drug paraphernalia and dangerous drugs were located in the car.
