Odessa Police Officer on Administrative Leave After Being Arrested For Public Intoxication Near Dallas

ROWLETT, TEXAS - An Odessa Police officer is on administrative leave after being arrested for public intoxication on Tuesday morning near Dallas.

Odessa Police tell NewsWest 9, officer Ricardo Rodriguez was arrested for public intoxication.

Rowlett Police were called out to a Whataburger parking lot in Rowlett in reference to a possible DWI traffic stop around 2 a.m.

We’re told that the driver of the vehicle that Rodriguez was riding with was arrested for driving while intoxicated. Rodriguez was a passenger in the vehicle and was arrested as well.

Rodriguez has been placed on administrative leave with pay while Rowlett Police investigate.
