Small charge could be sign of scam

Posted: Updated:

Amarillo, TX - $9.84 may not seem like a large charge on your credit card bill, but experts say it could mean trouble.

The Better Business Bureau is reporting thieves are charging $9.84 to people's credit cards.

The thieves hope the small charge will be overlooked by banks and credit card companies as well as consumers.

Watch out for a $9.84 charge from a web site which when visited says it's for "Customer Service".

If you notice the $9.84 charge or another a small amount on your bill that you did not purchase, you should request a new card number and a new card.
