HOBBS, N.M. - Two businesses in Hobbs have closed their doors after getting busted for selling spice.

Hobbs Police teamed up with the Lea County Drug Task Force to serve cease and desist orders to the S&S Smoker's Outlet stores on East Main and North Dal Paso on Thursday.

The stores were violating a city ordinance that prohibits the sale of synthetic marijuana.

The rule also allows authorities to shut down shops and seize the illegal merchandise.

The store on North Dal Paso will be closed for only one week because it was their first offense.

However, this was the second citation for the location on East Main Street which means they'll be shut down for a year.
