HOBBS, N.M. - A rowdy night out in Hobbs put a Lovington man behind bars after he fired a pistol from his truck.
Officers conducted a high-risk traffic stop on a truck around 12:30 a.m. Sunday morning.
They ordered 31-year-old Jason Manzelli and two other men to get out of the vehicle.
Once they were detained, the officers searched the truck and found a pistol.
Manzelli told police that he and his friends had gotten into an argument with several other men at a bar down the road.
When they were kicked out, Manzelli got in the truck and picked up the pistol.
That's when a shot was fired outside the window.
Officers noticed that Manzelli smelled like alcohol and he confessed that he was drunk.
