The former city attorney for Alpine is suing the City of Alpine after he claims he was fired because he blew the whistle on city corruption.
John Armstrong filed the lawsuit this week.
He claims after uncovering city corruption, he was unlawfully fired.
After being hired in December, Armstrong says he uncovered problems with the city's finances involving city leaders and city workers.
He reported it to law enforcement and told the Mayor and City Council what he did.
Armstrong says both met him with opposition which lead up to him being fired.
He wants a trial by jury and up to $200,000 in damages.
