MIDLAND - After a personnel audit, Midland ISD has announced that 99.97 percent of their teachers are considered “highly qualified” under the No Child Left Behind guidelines.
Teachers are required to meet state and federal guidelines to be considered “highly qualified.”
Each teacher is required to have a bachelor's degree, a state teaching certification and a demonstrated competency in the subject areas they teach.
Midland ISD says they are proud to have a high qualified staff especially with the high number of new teachers they hired this year.
