ODESSA- The Odessa Police Department has released a new "High Five" for this week. The "High Five" is people who are wanted for failure to pay any outstanding warrants.
"There is currently over 19,000 warrants in the city of Odessa and we're trying to receive voluntary compliance," Steve LeSueur, with the Odessa Police Department, said.
But there are a lot of people not complying, so the ritual continues. This week, the Odessa Police Department and Crime Stoppers are asking for your help to find a few residents that have let their outstanding warrants pile up.
Jorge Nunez- Perez tops this weeks list with eight outstanding warrants but he's not the only one who's let them rack up. There's Albert Olivas, who also has eight outstanding warrants, and don't forget Salvador Ojeda who has eight outstanding warrants too. Following close behind is Manuel Montalvo- Amaya with six outstanding warrants and rounding out the "High Five" for this week is Lauro Aregullin with six outstanding warrants.
The Odessa Police Department wants to remind you if you don't pay your fines, they don't just disappear.
"It actually will get worse and worse and worse and if they fail to appear then they'll set another date and it actually makes it worse," LeSueur said.
