ODESSA - The Smoker's Outlet robbery happened back in October but police are still looking for the man behind the crime. Now, NewsWest 9 has the surveillance video of the break-in.

"It is a felony 1, aggravated robbery, and we really need to get this stopped," Susan Rogers with Odessa Crime Stoppers said.

The man waltzed into the store on North County Road West dressed in dark clothes, a mask and a hat.

"There was a lot of commotion going on with those two clerks in there. They were in fear for their lives," Rogers said.

At first, the man seems to hesitate, then went for it and jumped behind the counter and demanded money.

"The girls are trying to open the cash register but they weren't logged in apparently so they couldn't get into it," she said.

The crook grabbed one of the clerks and threw her down on the ground and threatened the other employee.

"It is a dangerous situation. You can see how forceful he is when he comes through the door, " Rogers told NewsWest 9.

Even in all the commotion, Rogers said the employees were still serving customers.

"The clerk did tell us, she was trying to get the attention of the customer to call the police," Rogers said.

Once the robber got the cash, he took off on foot. Witnesses told police they saw him run into the apartments behind Smokers Outlet.

He's described as a black man, about 6'2" tall. Anyone with any information is asked to call Odessa Crime Stoppers at (432) 333-TIPS.
