MIDLAND - It's the day after Halloween and one business in Midland is trying to teach kids a lesson about giving.

The Kool Smiles Dental Office is gearing up for the second annual "Operation Troop Treats."

From now through November sixth, kids are encouraged to bring in their Halloween candy.

The candy will be sent off to the troops serving overseas.

For every 25 pieces of candy that's brought in, a toy will be given to the child but there is a limit of three toys per child.

The dental team started this campaign to teach children not only about giving back but also about good dental hygiene.

"We're trying to help the troops outside the border to get something to make them feel better and closer to home. So reducing cavities in children is our main priority, but helping others if we can, that's our second target in this campaign," Dentist, Luminita Narita, said.

You don't have to be a patient to bring in candy.
