GAINES COUNTY - The West Nile Virus has claimed the life of an elderly man in Gaines County.
Officials say the 77-year-old Seminole man passed away on September sixth.
We're told that as of about two weeks ago, the City of Seminole was still spraying for mosquitoes.
Officials are continuing to ask residents to take precautions to keep from getting bitten.
Be sure to get rid of any standing water that could become a breeding area for the insects.
Use insect repellent containing Deet while you're outside especially during sunrise and sunset, when mosquitoes are most active and don't forget about your pets because they can also get the virus.
