MCCAMEY – On Thursday, NewsWest 9 reported about elementary students in McCamey being forced to clean up feces with their bare-hands.
On Friday, McCamey school officials confirmed the story to NewsWest 9.
They also tell NewsWest 9, the district met extensively with the Department of State Health Services on Friday and will follow guidelines suggested by them.
The department told the district that although the incident was an unhealthy practice, the students exposed should not face a severe health threat.
The principal who is accused of making the students clean the feces, Gaylon Doan, resigned on Thursday.
It's not confirmed whether or not he resigned due to the accusations.
