ECTOR COUNTY - Pointing a laser at a Department of Public Safety helicopter, that's what got one man thrown behind bars.
19-year-old Joey Martin has been charged with illumination of aircraft by intense light.
On Wednesday night, Martin pointed a laser at a DPS helicopter near Interstate 20 in Ector County.
Officers tried to find him but were unsuccessful.
On Thursday night, officers in the helicopter set up at the same location at the same time.
They noticed someone running and that the laser was being pointed at them.
Deputies on ground were notified and Martin was arrested.
