ODESSA- Shots were fired but no one has been arrested for them.

Police responded to the call of a shooting at the 3800 block of Melody Lane in Odessa just before 2 p.m.

There were no injuries but there were holes in the house, the window and the windshield of a car.

Residents who live in the area spoke with NewsWest 9 about what they believe happened.

"Well we were working, my wife and I were working in the back and we heard about six shots. I think it sounded like a gun. It could have been a rifle but I think more or less, it was a gun," one resident said.

Residents told NewsWest 9 what they heard from a couple houses away.

"We ran inside the house. Protect ourselves from getting shot. We didn't know which way the bullets were going but they were pretty close," a neighbor commented.

There were small holes along the side of the house that look like black dots. A broken window and a broken windshield were examined by crime scene investigators. But for all the damage, police came away with a different arrest.

The Odessa Police Department sent out a press release stating that, "A 15-year-old was arrested for false id."
