Troopers find 25 pounds of cocaine in 69 year-old driver's car

Amarillo, TX - Nearly a million dollars in drugs are uncovered by state troopers on Interstate 40.

Texas Department of Public Safety says a trooper near Conway in Carson County found over 25 pounds of cocaine, valued at $850,000, in a vehicle during a traffic stop Tuesday night.

The trooper also found $12,000 dollars in cash hidden inside the door panel.

The driver, 69 year-old Glenn Nolan Richards of Sunrise, Florida, is charged with felony possession of a controlled substance.

Troopers believe the drugs were being taken from West Covina, California to Florida.
