Compass Bank Robbery in Odessa

ODESSA -A man who robbed the Compass Bank in the on East 8th Street in Odessa Friday morning remains on the run tonight.

Police say the man entered the bank around 11:00 and handed the teller a note saying he was armed.

He is described as a black man, around 5 foot 6 inches tall and had braids. Police believe he is in his late 30's.

Right now it is unknown whether the man really did have a weapon.

The clerk gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of money and then took off on foot.

No one was hurt. The FBI is taking over the investigation.
