ODESSA - It seems like the same old song and dance; guys rob a convenience store taking the usual items. Two men in Odessa who broke into a 7-11, took something else, that may make you scratch your head.
"We got alot of burglaries that happen at alot of convenience stores," Susan Rogers with Odessa Crime Stoppers, said.
The two thieves jerked the doors open, split up and went to grab their goods. One man, clothed with white socks on his hands, grabbed the beer, while his buddy jumped the counter to get cigarettes and lottery tickets.
"(He) steals over 80 lottery tickets, some cigarettes and stuff, " Rogers explained.
It seemed like the normal robbery, the men head for the door and then one of them turned back.
"He grabs an entire display of cowboy hats and goes running out the door with this whole display of hats," she said.
These two are wanted for burglary of a building, which is a state jail felony.
"We see lots of the videos; to go back and look, a state jail felony for some beer, lotto tickets and some cowboy hats," she said.
If they think they've gotten away with it, Rogers said they have another thing coming.
"They may get away with it for a little while but because of the Caught on Camera (segment), we're catching these guys left and right and we're going to continue to do so," she said.
