Share the Road helps food bank fight back against hunger

Posted: Updated:

Amarillo, TX -- It might have been a cold one Saturday morning, but that didn't stop one local organization from coming together to help another that's working to stop hunger in the Panhandle.

Saturday morning, supporters of Share the Road met at the High Plains Food Bank garden to do a little dirty work.

The garden was created in 2009 and serves as a full production urban farm, growing produce to distribute in our community as well as teaching people how to grow their own food.

"We're happy to do some volunteer work for organizations like the High Plains Food Bank where we can work for two or three hours and look over our shoulder and see the results of our hard work," said Kenneth Graham, president of Share the Road.
