West Texas Congressman Defends Confrontation With Park Ranger in Washington

Staff Report
NewsWest 9

A Congressman who represents parts of West Texas wants to clear things up.

Randy Neugebauer says video of him confronting a Park Ranger was taken out of context.

It happened this week at the World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C.

People were not being let in because of the government shutdown.

The confrontation shows the Republican in a spat with a ranger over barricades installed at the memorial and then a confrontation with him and a government worker.

The Congressman says his beef is with the Park Service, not the female ranger.

Some of the West Texas towns Neugebauer represents are Big Spring, Snyder, Seminole and Denver City.
