The Texas State Representative from Marfa is doing what he can to save the Prada Marfa art installation.
Poncho Nevarez sent a letter to TXDOT officials about the issue.
He said that he disagrees with the idea that the fake store, which has been in the area for eight years, could be considered illegal because of the recent fiasco with the Playboy installation.
Nevarez went on to say that removing Prada Marfa would be bad for tourism and brought attention to the "Save Prada Marfa" Facebook page, which now has more than 5,000 likes.
TXDOT has called Prada Marfa an illegal advertisement but they have yet to decide what action to take on the matter.
