MIDLAND - A major crash in Midland sent one man to the hospital on Wednesday night.
Authorities say that around midnight a SUV was driving south on Midland Drive and tried to turn onto Illinois Avenue when it was hit by a truck.
The truck then drove into a traffic signal control box which knocked out the lights at that intersection.
The driver of the truck was rushed to the hospital then airlifted to a Lubbock hospital on Thursday.
No one else was hurt in the crash.
Police say speed and alcohol have not been ruled out as factors in the wreck.
Temporary stop signs were put up while the lights were being restored.
