MIDLAND - A Midland man was locked up over the weekend for driving while he was intoxicated with kids and un-prescribed painkillers in the car.
52-year-old Lawrence Martinez is facing charges for DWI with a child and a lesser charge for drug possession.
Police pulled him over around 10 p.m. on Friday in the 2400 block of South Loop 250 West.
Officers found a plastic bag in the driver's side door that had three hydrocodone pills in it.
Martinez confessed that he had been drinking that night.
However, officers noticed that he had cottonmouth and a white film on his lips which meant that he had taken the drugs.
Two children were in the car at the time.
Martinez was released from custody on Sunday.
