MIDLAND - Midland Police have released new details after two armed robberies that occurred within minutes of each other on Tuesday night.
The first robbery happened at Schlotzsky's on Andrews Highway around 8:45 p.m. We're told the suspect, with a black handgun, walked into the business and took approximately $500 and headed southbound on foot.
Midland Police set up a perimeter around the business and arrested a man for existing warrants and has not been charged in connection with the robbery.
No physical description of the Schlotzsky's suspect has been released but Midland Police tell NewsWest 9 a mask that was used by the suspect was found near the restaurant and will undergo DNA testing.
The second robbery happened at Jumburrito on North Lamesa Street just before 9 p.m.
We're told a Hispanic male walked into the restaurant, with gun in hand, went to the back office area and demanded the money in the cash register. We're told the man took approximately $300.
The Jumburrito suspect is described as a Hispanic male, mid to late 20's, 5'7" to 5'9" with dark complexion. He was last seen wearing a dark navy button up shirt, dark pants, tennis shoes and a bandana.
No arrests have been made in either robbery.
According to police, it appears the suspects are most likely not the same in both robberies.
Police are investigating.
