CAUGHT ON CAMERA: Thief Searches For Unlocked Cars in Business Parking Lot

ODESSA - The chiropractor's office seems like a safe enough place but that didn't stop one Odessa thief from looking for an open door at HQ Chiropractor's. Too bad for him, his crimes were all caught on camera.

"We've got a guy that's walking through the parking lot. He's checking all the cars to see what's unlocked," Susan Rogers with Odessa Crime Stoppers, said.

The bandit found an unlocked car and made off with some loot.

"He's in there for a couple of minutes, going through the glove box. He ends up taking a GPS system and a piece of medical equipment," Rogers told NewsWest 9.

After he's done with that car, the robber keeps going through the parking lot, looking for another car to steal from.

"He's not looking to break a window, he's looking for the easiest way possible," Rogers said, adding this is a good reminder to always lock up. "The best thing to do is to make sure you always lock you car when you get out of it."

The sneaky swindler faces a charge of burglary of a vehicle. Anyone with any information is asked to call Odessa Crime Stoppers at 333-TIPS. Any tips leading to an arrest could land you some cash. All callers are kept anonymous.

More than half of the 17 people killed when a tourist boat sank on a Branson lake were members of the same Indiana family, and they likely wouldn't have been on the ill-fated trip but for a ticket mix-up.
