MIDLAND COUNTY – A teenager was arrested in Midland on Sunday for his involvement in a crash that killed one person.
17-year-old Fernando Alvarado is facing charges for failure to stop and render aid.
The crash happened around 4 a.m. close to the stripes store in the 2400 block of South Rankin Highway.
Police say Alvarado was leaving the store in a truck when he pulled out in front of an SUV.
The impact of the crash forced both vehicles off the road and the SUV to flip.
The driver of the SUV, 27-year-old Noah Flemister, was thrown from his car then rushed to Midland Memorial Hospital where he later died.
Alvarado fled the scene of the wreck and abandoned his truck in the 2100 block of Belmont Street.
