BIG SPRING - West Texans joined in with the Nation in pausing to remember those who died 12 years ago on September 11, 2001.
In Big Spring, firefighters came together for a special 9-11 Memorial Service.
Big Spring firefighters and Howard County Volunteer fire crews held the ceremony at Spring Plaza.
It honored those who died in New York, Washington, and Shanksville, Pennsylvania.
The ceremony also recognized the sacrifices made by our troops.
The Big Spring Fire Chief says he's in awe of the bravery shown by these people.
"I would like to say thanks to everyone all around the country. Military, I can't say enough thanks to the military personnel that are out there. I take my hat off to them. The sacrifice they make every day, it's hard to come up with words how much we appreciate that," Big Spring Fire Chief, Craig Ferguson, said.
