CRANE - A man in Crane was convicted on Thursday for enticing a 13-year-old boy to engage in sexual acts but there's a twist.
Juan Carlos Venegas is deaf and unable to speak.
Venegas communicated with the boy via text message.
Crane County deputies received a call July second from a father saying he found a 20-year-old man sleeping with his son.
Venegas was not able to talk or hear deputies but wrote a 'yes' on a slip of paper when he was asked to go to the Sheriff's Office.
While waiting for an interpreter, deputies went through Venegas' cell phone.
According to the arrest report, deputies discovered Venegas and the young boy exchanged text messages, calling each other "babe."
They also discovered a picture of the two in boxer shorts.
During questioning, deputies say Venegas admitted the two touched each other sexually.
There's no word when sentencing for Venegas will take place.
