Amarillo man behind bars after officers respond to reports of shots fired

Amarillo, TX - An Amarillo man is behind bars after officers responded to reports of shots fired Wednesday night.

Amarillo police responded to a large fight in 2200 block of northeast 6th.

Three individuals were detained in the street while several others were found hiding in a residence on north Osage.

After talking with several witnesses officers discovered two .22 caliber rifles, a 12 gauge shotgun and a .380 pistol, that was later determined stolen.

17-year-old Christian Mata was arrested and booked into Potter County on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, theft of a firearm and unlawfully carrying a weapon.

No injuries were reported.
