DPS helicopter assists in hiker rescue in Palo Duro Canyon

The Texas Department of Safety was called in to assist a rescue operation Saturday afternoon down in Palo Duro Canyon.

Officials say a hiker began suffering from some kind of heat-related condition while in Palo Duro Canyon.

The DPS helicopter was called out to help locate the hiker.

Officials tell us they were able to locate the hiker, and EMS brought them out of the canyon. But that person's current medical condition hasn't been released.
