Amarillo, TX - Amarillo Police are investigating an accident that claimed the life of an area man Thursday night.

Officers say they were called to the 1600 block of Folsom Rd. around 10:00 PM.

On arrival, they found a red Dodge truck had been hit by a train.

29 year old Rickey Dale Rogers Jr. was thrown from his pick-up when a BNSF train made impact.

Reports show the train was traveling eastbound when it collided with the truck, which was facing north with it's lights turned off.

Rogers was pronounced dead at the scene and an autopsy has been ordered.
