Police investigate a shooting in East Amarillo

Amarillo Police continue to investigate a shooting in the 1400 block of Dunaway in East Amarillo, Tuesday night. 

When police arrived, they say they found a man lying in the street with a gunshot wound to his torso.

The alleged shooter had put down the gun and surrendered to police at the scene.

It's not known what led to the shooting other than there was a confrontation over the gun.

The victim was transferred to a local hospital with serious injuries.
