BIG SPRING - Big Spring officials have confirmed three cases of West Nile in the city.

The state has been on a mission to trap and study the mosquito population to determine just how bad the problem is.

With recent rains, there's plenty of stagnant water.

So try to get rid of that to avoid a breeding area for the insects and use insect repellent when you're outside, especially around sunrise and sunset when mosquitoes are most active.
