An area man will remain behind bars for the next six years after pleading guilty to sexual abuse of a child.

45-year-old David Jouett was sentenced Tuesday, nearly two years after the abuse took place.

He was arrested in November of 2011 after a "safehouse" interview of the child, and an investigation by law enforcement.

In addition to the prison sentence, Jouett must also register as a sex offender and will be placed on intensive life-time parole supervision.
