CARLSBAD, N.M. - Carlsbad Caverns National Park is back open after being evacuated on Wednesday.
The rain caused the walnut canyon park road to flood.
All visitors and employees were evacuated from the cave.
Officials say the park received more than two and a half inches of rain as of Wednesday afternoon.
The potential for flooding is also higher than usual because of a large fire that burned most of the vegetation along the park road in 2011.
