Wreck on Western knocks out nearby power and gas lines

Posted: Updated:

An accident on Western Street Saturday morning left one pickup and nearby gas and power lines badly damaged.

Officials say a pickup was headed south on Western near Kristee Street when the driver hit a curb and overcorrected, sending the vehicle off the road and headfirst into a power line pole.

The driver was uninjured, but both Xcel and Atmos Energy crews had to be called to the scene to make repairs to power and gas lines that were damaged by the wreck.

So far, we're unaware of any major outages that accident may have caused.
