Third Person Arrested in Connection With Midland Murder

MIDLAND - Two children are left without a mother after Kyara West was shot and killed early Thursday morning at the Midland Village Apartment Complex allegedly by the father of her children, Arron Castillo. West was shot in the head and the chest and later pronounced dead at the scene.

NewsWest 9 learned that the victim and Castillo went to court on Wednesday morning for a child support hearing, the Judge ruled in favor of Kyara and ordered Arron to pay $600 a month in child support.
 
According to the affidavit, 30 minuets before going to meet Arron on Thursday, Kyara called her mother and said she was going to get money from Castillo. Soon after, Kyara was killed.
 
Three arrests have been made in connection with their investigation. Arron Castillo has been charged with murder, Carlos Martinez and Deseare Breausha Carroll have been charged with tampering with evidence.

Some family members of the accused and the victim spoke out on NewsWest 9's Facebook page.

An Aunt of Kyara West writes, "My niece doesn't deserve this. Them babies didn't either. Love you Keke always," she said. "My niece is gone, R.I.H. (Rest In Heaven) Keke!"

A cousin of Carlos Martinez wrote, "Cuz, I love you and only God will judge us. I don't know what happened but I'm praying for you and her family. Cuz as family we will stand by you, even though we don't understand your actions. I'm not here to judge, nor will I ever judge any action. I'm not good but I do love you unconditionally and we will be here for you."

Officials are still investigating the shooting, there is still no word on who will get custody of the two children.
