ODESSA - The Ector County School District just lost their interim superintendent.
A man they were hoping would take over the job permanently.
Instead, Doctor H.T. Sanchez took a position to lead schools in Tucson, Arizona this month.
Well now it looks like he's taking someone else with him.
It looks like New Tech Odessa High School will have to start looking for a new principal.
Doctor Adrian Vega is headed for Tucson, Arizona, to serve as the deputy superintendent.
NewsWest 9 confirmed that Doctor H.T. Sanchez offered him the position on Tuesday night.
Vega came to Odessa from Tyler, Texas, back in 2011.
The school board president says Vega was instrumental in opening New Tech High.
The school, which focuses on project based learning, is a first for Odessa.
"He's been able to give incredible guidance and the new tech program. And because of that we have some incredible teachers that have been able to put in place and administration there with New Tech," School Board President, Ray Beaty, said.
We reached out to Doctor Vega to get a comment on Wednesday but we haven't heard back from him.
Beaty says they will start looking within the district for a principal candidate.
