Amarillo, TX - An unusual domestic dispute lands one man behind bars for allegedly assaulting an Amarillo woman and her 18 month-old son.

At 9:53pm Wednesday (Jul. 3), Amarillo Police responded to the Three Fountains Apartments at 3308 Eddy Street.

According to a police report, the victim told officers that 22 year-old Oscar Villafranco, her ex-boyfriend, arrived at her apartment and the two began to argue. As the argument escalated, she decided to leave with her child. As she was packing, Villafranco left and she locked the door behind him.

Villafranco reportedly returned a short time later and broke in the door. According to the report, he struck the woman several times and threw her child onto the floor.

When officers arrived, Villafranco had already fled the apartment, but officers spotted him running across the apartment's courtyard and apprehended him a short time later.

The woman was transported to a local hospital with serious facial injuries. The child did not appear to be injured.

Villafranco was booked into the Randall County Jail on charges of assault causing serious bodily injury, child endangerment, harassment of a public servant, failure to identify, and evading arrest.
