MIDLAND - While some spent the day bar-b-cueing and celebrating, others were protesting.
A group gathered at the courthouse on Wall Street in Midland for a "Restore The Fourth" protest.
The group says the government is spying on its citizens and others around the world and they're protesting against unconstitutional surveillance.
They weren't alone as groups gathered across the country.
The rally was inspired by the recent events involving Edward Snowden, who is the former NSA worker is accused of sharing classified documents.
