BIG SPRING - A Big Spring man accused of leading authorities on a chase is expected to take a plea deal this week.
The deal would put 28-year-old Michael Dale Preston behind bars for the next two years.
The chase involved both police and the sheriff's office last February.
Officials say it all started when they spotted Preston in a vehicle believed to have been involved in a hit and run.
The chase finally came to an end when Preston crashed through several objects and a guardrail.
On a separate allegation, a few months later Preston was accused of attacking his wife with a machete.
Her head had to be stitched up but she later dropped the charges.
