CARLSBAD, N.M. - A Carlsbad woman is facing charges after using a Christmas holiday favorite as a weapon.
51-year-old Norma Moreno is accused of stabbing a wheelchair bound man in the eye with a plastic candy cane.
The Carlsbad Current-Argus reports Moreno was arrested Friday and charged with causing great bodily harm to the victim's eye.
According to police, the bizarre attack happened in January when Moreno got into an argument with the 46-year-old man.
A police report says Moreno hit the disabled victim four times then stabbed him in the left eye.
The man later had eye surgery at a Lubbock hospital.
