MIDLAND - He's not a pirate but a Midland man got caught with a treasure.
31-year-old Alvin Ryals is accused of stealing money, gold coins and silver.
Deputies say he stole those items from a house on East County Road 140.
The 80-year-old homeowner told authorities $80,000 in cash, along with about $25,000 worth of gold coins and silver bars were taken.
Another suspected thief that was caught at the scene told detectives Ryals was in on it.
Ryals was also connected to a gun theft at another home on South County Road 1066.
Deputies say when he was questioned; Ryals denied any involvement in the crime.
