MIDLAND - A Midland woman is dead and another is behind bars after a hit and run accident in Midland.
The accident happened around 11:45 p.m. Friday night at the intersection of Midkiff Road and Wadley Ave.
Police tell NewsWest 9, a red Toyota Corolla, driven by 22-year-old Stefanie Moore of Midland, was traveling south on Midkiff Road when she struck 35-year-old Natalie Hartman of Midland.
Moore fled the scene.
Hartman was transported to Midland Memorial Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Officials say that while they were conducting an investigation into the accident, Moore called in to report an unrelated accident and she was identified as the suspect in the hit-and-run. Moore was found intoxicated and was arrested and charged with intoxication manslaughter.
