Africanized Bees Make Their Presence Known at the NewsWest 9 Studios

MIDLAND COUNTY - Africanized bees took over the NewsWest 9 studios this week and we're apparently not the only ones dealing with the pests.

NewsWest 9 spoke with Tim Cleverdon of Bee Busters who explained why they're popping up even more lately.

With the rains and changing weather patterns, it triggers a swarming response, which means they begin multiplying and creating more colonies.

But before you try to take care of the problem yourself, experts say the best thing to do is leave it to the professionals just like we did.

If you think you could be dealing with Africanized bees, be careful.

Cleverdon says when the aggressive breed stings a person; it releases a pheromone that allows others to track so they can all attack you.
