Amarillo, TX - We now know the name of the man killed in a wreck north of Amarillo.

The Texas Department of Public Safety has identified the driver of the pick-up truck as 46 year old Matthew Brian Cooper of Amarillo.

They say Cooper was driving north of the Canadian River Bridge when he veered off the roadway.

Around 4:30 this morning, authorities received a call regarding extensive damage to the guardrail along the Dumas Highway, near mile marker 118.

Upon arrival they tell us they found tracks leading down to the bottom of a bridge.

Authorities say that's where they located a vehicle with a male driver inside.

Cooper was pronounced dead at the scene.

Texas DPS is handling the investigation.
